This is just a quick note to let you all know that the family who runs my favorite restaurant in town, Thanh Nhi, is shuttering the place from June 1st to July 4th while they go to Vietnam to visit family and friends.

If you are a lover of the place, you'll want to go and get your fix before they split. If you have still never been, you might want to go ahead and check it out in the next 10 days and see what you've been missing.

I think the fact that they're closing up shop while they're gone says a lot about what makes this restaurant so special. This family prepares their food with so much love and attention that they would never think to put someone else in charge while they're gone. If they aren't there to make sure it's right, they don't want you paying for it.

I just got back from two weeks in Vietnam, and I had some amazing food which I'll be writing about here soon. Thanh Nhi would have been among the best places I ate in Vietnam if it was there. Luckily, it's here.
